I saw this post and just had to do this.
As it’s been said before, this is about giving the government too much control. I simply *cannot* believe that there are those who aren’t outraged at this legislation. See, in the United States of America, you have the right to express what you feel you must express
That is great and you should have that right
You DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO NOT BE OFFENDED!
One mans free speech is another mans oppression. I do have the right to choose…right…you get to choose what you say…I get to chose what I listen to or see.
There are NO provisions in the Constitution of the United States of America that states “The people of America are free to force their opinions on others.”
Yes there is there is the FREE SPEECH clause in the constitution you express what you want and I will express what I want…you said so yourself
I’m sorry if you saw something you didn’t want to see. But, in the long run, you DO NOT have the right to force your opinions about what should and should not be censored (again free speech says I can give my opinion) (that is to say nothing, this is the internet after all) on other people. Now stop whining.
I am sure that expressing an opinion is not whining…you have expressed yours and quite forcefully it seems. In fact I would say that your are forcing your opinion on me…yes I think I would say that.
If people dont have the right to force their ideas upon others, then why the hell are people allowed to stand outside abortion clinics protesting and trying to convince everyone who enters to not get an abortion? PROTESTING IS NOW ILLEGAL! ZOMG!
Just like you said…wait…what is your point. People are allowed to express their opinion as long as it is the same as yours is that what you said….I just do not know.

shii’s post is here
It is called responsibility.
If you are not responsible enough to want, as a community, to protect your weaker citizens then the government should step in and create a law. Children do not understand the big wide world as well as adults and it is all of our responsibilities to protect them during this very impressionable time. Could you imagine the damage some things would cause a child if viewed at an age of 4 or 5.
This law is not censorship, and it is not about people being offended. It is about choice. If I choose to view the picture I should be allowed to view the picture, but in opposition, if I choose not to view I should not have to because somebody tricked me into it. The law does not say you cannot link to the picture, you just need to ensure that the viewer understands what it is that they are linking to.
The music, movie and game industry all have these standards that must be maintained so why should the Internet be any different. We are the produces, directors, actors and guild-masters of the Internet. We were given a medium to express ourselves and be free. Some people have chosen to abuse this privilege and now there needs to be a law.
Think of it this way. You are visiting a Martin Luther King tribute blog and somebody in the comments section of a post throws in a link. You click on the link and it opens in a new window and you see MLK hanging from a rope off of a tree with Klan members chanting whatever they chant. Offended yet, would you be angry. I know I would be. We need laws to keep people from doing this kind of thing.
Web sites need to put disclaimers on their content if they host images or words that are sexual in nature. Why should it be OK for the average Joe to just link to these pictures without a disclaimer as well. Again it is not about censorship it is about responsibility.

It has always been with me that I was never the really cool kid with all the cool toys. I would be cool for a while but sooner or later I ran out of cool stuff and was then ignored by the others. At parties I would be having a conversation with somebody and it would be going well till one of the COOL KIDS showed up. These people always had something better to talk about, a more interesting life, access to better rumors, new interesting ideas…you get the picture. I thought that all this would change on-line but it has not. Even though you can reinvent yourself and only be your best qualities on-line I still find that I do not garner the attention that the COOL KIDS do. I cannot get people to read my posts, visit my site, leave comments, argue with me, anything really. What does it take to make an IMPACT. Is there a magic formula for being a COOL KID. Maybe you are just born with it and nobody can truly be included in the COOL CLUB except from birth.
Now about the COOL CLUB itself. Every faction of socioty has a COOL CLUB. The Nerds, Jocks, Musicians, etc. You could be included in activities of the GROUP but you had to be special to be in the GROUPS inner circle or the COOL CLUB. You could talk to anybody in the GROUP but could be tossed to the side if a menber of the groups COOL CLUB joined in the conversation. These special members are called the COOL KIDS. Now do not get me wrong, you may get the chance to talk to one of the COOL KIDS and for a while you feel like you belong to the COOL CLUB but alas another COOL KID would come along and you would be dropped. COOL KIDS were not mean, well some were, but not all of them they were just more interesting than the other MEMBERS of the GROUP.
So you see it was hard being UNCOOL and always having to be second fiddle to the COOL KID.
This has happen to me on the internet. I am part of the GROUP but never a COOL KID. I cannot command attention long enough to become part of the COOL CLUB.

I am trying out Word Press to see if it is better than Blogger. I am hoping that it is. I also have a MOG that I update regularly. MOG is a music blogging site. I am sure that you can talk about all sorts of things on MOG, and I have. But I still need a forum for very non music related things. I will be on here from time to time. Just posting strange thoughts about Life the Universe and Everything. So until next time. Welcome to my life.
